Bacteriostatic water is a diluent used in research applications where a preservative-containing sterile diluent is needed. The 0.9% benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth in the vial after the seal has been broken. It is intended for laboratory research only, not for human or veterinary use.
How long can I use a vial after opening?
Once punctured, the vial should be used within 28 days when stored refrigerated (2–8 °C). Discard any remaining contents after that window.
